3.5 stars.
Of the recent books I've read involving suburban dysfunction, I like this one better than We Don't Live Here Anymore (3 stars), but not better than Updike's Rabbit books (4 stars), or Model Home (5 stars).
The writing was good, the book flowed, the characters were believable most of the time (except for maybe the children), and the ending was interesting as well. I liked the book enough to give one of Homes' other novels a read at some point.
