I like challenging books that make you think, and leave you happy that you did. Typically, I find character driven literary fiction the most satisfying, although I in no way think of myself as a serious literary critic.
Cats Cradle
I know I'm going to rate a book highly when I highlight/note the book heavily. That was definitely true of this book. Touching on science, technology, religion, and the morality of them all, this book really had a lot going for it, and dealt with all of the themes evenly and seriously, with a good plot behind it. The pace of the book was great. Short chapters. Fast moving. But deep as well. Great book. Vonnegut is fast becoming one of my favorites.
