Infinite Joe

I like challenging books that make you think, and leave you happy that you did. Typically, I find character driven literary fiction the most satisfying, although I in no way think of myself as a serious literary critic.

Hot Pink

Hot Pink - Adam Levin I'm giving this 3.5 stars because I liked it less than The Instructions (which I gave 4 stars), but I'm rounding it up to 4 stars because it's better than some of the short story collections from other authors that I've read and reviewed previously, and I gave those 3 stars.

I found most of these stories very entertaining, and intriguing, and strange (rewardingly so), but others just didn't do anything for me, especially The Extra Mile, the collage of mini-stories in the middle, and How To Play The Guy.

Basically, with a voice like Levin's, I think I just prefer him in the longer format. Of course, this is based on a whopping sample set of two, one book of each type, and who knows what the future holds. Hopefully, it holds a novel next, though.
